The 5th Discover Advanced Trends in E-Commerce Exhibition (DATE Expo) begins today in Area H on the Second Floor of TWTC Hall 1. The exhibition showcases digital services and products including Amazon Global Selling, Cheng-Che Technology’s social order integration system, Full2House's Facebook chatbot messenger, the online streaming platform E-Mygo, the internet celebrity e-commerce platform M1 Marketing, and the online foreign language tutor HiTutor. During the exhibition, eCommerce salons and seminars will be held to provide an interactive platform for local and international e-commerce businesses to help them with online and offline business opportunities.
Amazon Global Selling Taiwan General Manager, Clare Lin, noted that global B2C e-commerce transactions totaled US$2.093 trillion last year, of which cross-border e-commerce transactions accounted for US$676 billion. In 2019, global e-commerce transactions are expected to reach US$2.234 trillion, and cross-border e-commerce transactions are estimated to reach US$826 billion, demonstrating an annual growth rate of 7%. The market is scaling aggressively. The new cross-border e-commerce transaction chain will break traditional trade restrictions. Manufacturers can directly sell goods to consumers, without importers, exporters, and retail wholesalers. Moreover, the product sales model will shift to a consumer-centric model. Customer preferences may change at any time, so businesses must be able to make immediate adjustments based on customer needs. Carlos Yang, Director of Global Partnerships at JD.com China, says the retail industry is at a turning point. Based on the internet, a wide range of goods can be purchased on e-commerce platforms, significantly reducing the cost of sales. The retail industry is anticipating a disruptive revolution. Mr. Yang further proposed the concept of borderless retail, which includes unlimited scenarios, borderless goods, and people and enterprises side-by-side, which are comprehensively integrating online, offline, hardware, content, products, and services, to offer a reasonably priced and efficient retail experience.
The eCommerce salons are the highlight of this year's DATE Expo. Tomorrow (May 30), six presentations will be delivered at the eCommerce salons, namely, CyberSource from Hong Kong will share the 2019 Global Fraud Report, KOLSA will share KOREA Online Shopping Trends & Prospects, JINGDONG INDONESIA will share e-commerce in Indonesia, VIVERE MULTI KREASI will share the Digital Transformation in VIVERE Retail, FACY from Japan will share the New Trend of O2O Fashion Retail: Conversational E-commerce Service, and 28 Mall from Malaysia will share SuperCharge your Cross Border eCommerce to SEA + China. In addition, on May 30-31, 14 seminars will be held, where exhibitors such as SKYREC, ZHONGSHENG, GROMIN, TRANSBIZ, XINOSYS, and Edenred will introduce the latest technologies and applications in AI, O2O, and blockchain in e-commerce.
